iTunes freezes only on airplane

So twice now, I have rented a movie from iTunes to watch on flights when I travel, and both times (weeks apart) when I open iTunes, I get the spinning ball. Quit, restart, trash preferences, same result. Once I am back on the ground, however, all works perfectly. This happened both times. What the heck?! Anyone?

Do you mean this literally? Once the plane has touched down and is taxiing to the terminal the movie will play? Or do you mean back home? I have zero experience with movie rentals but I am wondering if you need to start watching the rental someplace where iTunes can get a wi-fi connection? That wouldn't necessarily be the second the wheels touch the ground or even in a terminal.

Hi Limnos,

You're right. To be specific, it works fine when I am back home, but it should work in the air without wi-fi. All the research I have done confirms this. I honestly thought when I posted this there would be someone who said "oh yeah, I know what's going on, you gotta turn this off or set this to that. Obviously not. The real bummer is, I won't know if I have solved the problem until I get back in the air!

Thanks for the reply. I f you have any more thoughts, I'd be glad to hear them.
